The City of Riggins is seeking proposals from urban forestry consultants to make a complete inventory of trees located on public grounds within the City and along the Riggins Irrigation Ditch (approximately 2 miles), as well as to plan additional plantings along city streets and in park areas.


The inventory should include the following:

(1)         Provide an accurate profile of the species, size, approximate age and condition of the present community forest.

(2)         Identify hazard trees that should be treated or removed to prevent damage and protect property.

(3)         Identify potential planting sites along right-of-way, etc., and species recommended for new planting.

(4)         Determine tree maintenance needs, planting recommendations, and set up maintenance schedule.


City personnel will be available to walk through project and assist consultant to identify areas to be inventoried or assessed.  Selected consultant will be required to provide written report of the study and recommendations with a presentation made to the Mayor and Riggins City Council, with project completion on or before September 30, 2006. 


Response to RFP should include a summary of consultantís education, training, practical experience, certifications, and professional memberships relevant to the project.  Response should all include references with telephone numbers listed, and samples of recent similar work. 


Proposals will be evaluated by the Mayor and Riggins City Council, and selection based on the following criteria: proposal quality, consultant experience, samples of similar work and recommendations of previous clients.
