EMERGENCY WATERING RESTRICTIONS
Effective August 8, 2006

Due to the high demand for water, in order to insure
that all users have water for irrigation, the City
Council requests that alternate day sprinkling begin,
effectively immediately, for both domestic well water
and the irrigation ditch.

All those properties located NORTH of the Riggins
Grade School are requested to water only on EVEN
numbered days of the month (August 8, August 10,
August 12, etc.)  And all properties beginning at the
Grade School to the SOUTH would water on the ODD
numbered days of the month (August 9, August 11,
August 13, etc.)

All watering should be limited to the evening and
early morning hours of 5:00pm until 10:00am, if
possible, to provide the maximum benefit of water
used.    Hand watering will be allowed at all times.
Hand sprinkling is limited to the use of water by a
sprinkler or sprayer actually held in a person’s hand.
All set sprinklers are subject to the alternate day
schedule.

The City Council asks for your cooperation to
help make continued water available for the duration
of the summer!

REMEMBER……North is EVEN - South is ODD

 CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!

The Ambulance may be one of the most important and needed services in our community, and we are in great need of new volunteers to help with it’s operation.  We have two outstanding and dedicated EMT’s retiring this year, Fritz Kettenburg and Cathy Conover.  They have served the ambulance for many years, and have decided not to re-certify, to pursue other interests.   Declining numbers of EMT’s and Drivers has put an overload on those still working, and we need your help.  A Basic EMT class will be scheduled soon, and both EMT’s and Drivers are needed.  Please consider helping!  The Ambulance is one of the most important services in the canyon, and we desperately need your help to keep it in operation.   If you are willing to drive or to take the EMT course, please contact Ann Wilson or the City Hall.

 BUDGET HEARING

The public hearing on the 2006-2007 budget and proposed fee increases is scheduled for August 14th, at 7:00 pm.   Detail of the tentative budget and proposed fees increases will be published in the August 2nd and August 9th Idaho County Free Press, or can be obtained at the City Hall.
