RIGGINS CITY COUNCIL
July 14, 2014 – 7:00 p.m.
This special combined meeting of the Riggins City Council and Riggins Urban Renewal District was called to order by Mayor Glenna McClure. Councilors present were Wilson, Friend and Miller. Councilor Akins was absent.
The purpose of this meeting was to review the FY2014-15 Budget proposals for both the City of Riggins and the Riggins Urban Renewal District.
BIOSOLIDS DISPOSAL: Miller expressed concern with the heavy metals contained in the biosolids. Discussed disposal through Lake Shore Disposal; Jason Wereley and Ross have been in contact with Everette from Lake Shore. Clerk will check with Ross on budget expenditure amount for biosolids disposal.
SALARIES: Discussed Clerk and Deputy Clerk salary percentages for Water and Sewer. In order to decrease expense in Sewer, Clerk salary reduced in Sewer to $364 per month; Deputy Clerk salary reduced in Sewer to $136 per month; these amounts are equal to Water salary for each.
POLYMER: Discussed the use of polymer for the process at the Wastewater Plant. It was estimated the annual cost for polymer would be approximately $2,000 per year; this will be added to the Sewer Expenditures.
RIGGINS COMMUNITY CENTER: Discussed getting an official sign for the front of the building. It was determined this could be completed within the current budget.
CITY BUDGET: Following review of proposed budget, motion was made by Miller to accept the FY2014-15 Budget with the changes noted, and to publish a Notice of Public Hearing on said budget for August 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.; seconded by Friend. Voting yea, Friend, Miller and Wilson. No nays; motion carried.
URA BUDGET: Following review of proposed budget, motion was made by Friend to accept the FY2014-15 Budget, and to publish a Notice of Public Hearing on said budget for September 8, 2014 at 6:30 p.m.; seconded by Miller. Voting yea, Friend, Miller and Wilson. No nays; motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
